It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already here! I had hoped to publish this post a couple weeks ago but time and busy schedules got away from me before I could get the notes turned into actual words and coherent sentences. Regardless, while it’s about to be Thanksgiving the week this post is going live, the content is not strictly for the purpose of holiday travel so it is still completely relevant for today and moving forward.
Things are especially busy right now, though that was to be expected by adding yoga teacher training into the mix. I am not complaining though, as my heart is so full and I am so excited with the potential direction of many aspects of my life. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but I’m choosing to focus on the good things in the hopes of bringing more good and light into my life (and yours).
With that said, I thought it would be fun to catch up a bit today with a round of “currently.” I think it’s been a couple months since I did this, so what better time to get back to it:
I look forward to the day when I can speak to years and years of meditation practice and how it has truly transformed my life, but we at this point it has been nearly a year (if not actually a year) since I made yoga a regular activity in my life. I still work every day to keep this practice regular, despite feeling it’s benefits, and I’m still trying to figure out my “sweet spot” in terms of time, duration, space, and content of my practice. But I recognize this is something that like the practice itself, is always something to work on.
With that said, I thought I would share how to get started meditating and how to make that transition period a bit easier for yourself:
I say this every month, but it’s crazy to think we’re already in November! The next two months are bound to be extra busy with my full-time job, a potential work trip to Seattle, yoga teacher training, a few events to attend with the boy, and then holiday season kicking into high gear (in my personal life and the potential extra hours at work). I’m not complaining as I am actually looking forward to every single thing on my calendar this month, but I definitely have to make sure to prioritize self care so I can be at my healthiest and enjoy every moment and event.
