May 2018 Goals

Another month has come and gone. April went fast(ish) but then again, don’t they all? Really, April was like this major roller coaster full of ups and downs. More than anything though, I’m really just grateful that spring has decided to show up and it appears it’s ready to stick around. Talk about something to be grateful for.

The boyfriend and I have been going on long walks with his dog (and his mom’s while he’s been watching her dog too) and it’s just been really nice to get out in the sunshine and soak up every bit that I can. Anyway, we’re today to talk about goals but before we get to my goals for May, let’s take a look back on April

APRIL GOALS

  1. Get a job – Not quite. I did get an offer but it didn’t end up being a good fit. That’s okay though, I’m optimistic I’m still on the right path.
  2. Read 2 books – Check! I read 3!
  3. Complete a daily burpee challenge (10/day) – Done! I was really good about staying on with 10 a day until the last week when things got hairy, but I made up for it over the weekend and got them all done!
  4. More fruits & veggies, less granola, sweets & unnecessary carb-y foods – I’m considering this a success. Was there still room for improvement? Of course. But do I feel like I was a lot better than I had been? YES.

Now onto my goals for this month…

May Goals

  1. Read 2 books
  2. Start the 2018 Tone It Up Bikini Series & be committed to my health and fitness again
  3. Complete my daily fitness challenge (1 min plank/day)
  4. Drink more water (70-80ox/day)
  5. Find, accept, and start the right job

What are your goals for the month?

  1. Wishing you all the best with your May goals. I hope that you find the job that is right for you and that the fit is a good one.
I’m also trying to drink more water – not always easy as I love my tea so much.

    1. I think drinking tea is better than drinking boat loads of coffee! SO you’re in the right direction, I think!

  2. Congratulations on reading 3 books! I have a reading goal for 2018 too. 1x month – this month I read two novels. I am getting back into practice. I had forgotten how much I love to fall inside a story.

    1. I’m more of a non-fiction than fiction fan but when I find a good story, it is nice to get pulled in isn’t it!?

  3. Great job on your April goals. I think it’s ok that you turned that job down, but getting an offer had to at least feel like a step in the right direction! You’re getting out there and interviewing and getting good practice with all of that. I hope May brings you the right job!

  4. Sometimes a job isn’t the right fit. Forcing it would only make it worse! Hopefully you find the right one soon. 🙂 And yay for Bikini Series! I don’t follow along with the challenges anymore but Bikini Series was what got me started on my fitness journey years ago!

  5. You know, I love that you realize the distinction between finding a job and also finding THE RIGHT job. I know that we’re not always in the position to be able to do these kinds of things, but if you can take a bit more time to figure it out, trust me you’ll be happier in the long run. God knows we spend enough time at work and working; best to find something we’ll actually enjoy doing 🙂

You did a great job in April! Best of luck in May (and yes, thank god for doggy walks and blue skies!). XO

    1. I’m not sure I’m in the right position to wait either, BUT I’m just trying to stay optimistic it was the right choice. lol

  6. I’m slowly getting back into the routine of eating better and workout more, but it’s a work in progress. Sorry the job offer wasn’t the right fit – I’m sure something perfect will show up though!! 🙂

    1. Same. I actually found I was a lot better about it when I was working a full time job and used filling my water bottle as a great excuse to leave my desk. lol

  7. I recently just had a baby and plan to start the Tone It Up Bikini Series once I get cleared at my 6 week checkup! They have a 12 week program for new moms I plan to check out!! I think once you get started you’ll be hooked – good luck!!!

    1. I absolutely LOVE working out, I just need some new motivation and focus. I’m sure being out of my normal routine isn’t helping.

  8. Your walks with the boyfriend and the dogs sounds really lovely and relaxing.
You had a good month my dear and even though you didn’t land a job, you’re getting loads of interviewing experience, which certainly helps you in the long run. Good luck Katie, I’m thinking of you.
