Currently: March 2018

First and foremost, thank you all so much for your kind words on my intention post last week. You all are the absolute best! There’s so much going on and I know it’s all going to be OK at the end of the day but for now, I am reminding myself to breathe, that everything changes, and that I have back up plans ready and waiting.

Anyway, let’s move on to this month’s CURRENTLY post as a way catch up:

Reading

The Art and Business of Teaching Yoga by Amy Ippoliti & Taro Smith, PhD. While it’s not my intent to teach yoga full time, I do want to start teaching right away and I want to make sure I’m ready mentally, physically, and any other ways I may not have thought of. Thankfully this is a pretty easy and quick read. It’s been perfect for a little pre-bed reading time.

Watching

Is anyone else a Survivor fan? This show has been on FOREVER and while I’ve taken several seasons off, I started watching with this season and I really enjoy it.

Listening to

While I have an audiobook going right now, the biggest thing I’ve been listening to lately is the playlist for my next class. I want to make sure I’m ready for this class and feel like I know my playlist a lot better than I felt like I knew the playlist for my practical final. The songs are set up in a way that it can help me know my timing and where we should be heading and if we are ahead/behind schedule, without having to look at my watch (though I will do that too).

Eating / Drinking

I’ve returned to the days of full fat coconut milk + collagen in my coffee in the morning and I am loooooooving it! I only do it with my first cup and then my second is just black, but I’ve really been enjoying my morning coffee so much lately.



Planning

My back up plan. Nuff said, for now.

Feeling

Uneasy. I hate saying that, but there is a lot of uncertainty and there’s definitely a feeling of uneasiness that I can’t ignore. That and stress. The headaches are back to an extreme, I’m totally exhausted and my entire body is in revolt. I need to get better about meditation and other ways to relax so it doesn’t totally consume me.

Loving

The potential for the direction of my life. When one door closes (or is in the process of slowing burning), another opens, right? ha!

Trying

To blog more. You may or may not have noticed…because it hasn’t been a big increase, but I am trying to be better about blogging 2x a week consistently and working ahead so I don’t feel so rushed to get a post up. With that said, if there’s anything you want to see more of, let me know!

Learning

My next yoga class to teach. I’m really trying to get this class in my head so it can be the best I can make it and put me in a better place to get hired to teach. Fingers crossed.

It sounds as though there many changes afoot, and while that can be SO wonderful, it's unbelievably scary too (believe me, I get it!). But like Melissa says above, YOU GOT THIS. You do. Because you're awesome and I believe firmly you can do anything you put your mind to 🙂

  2. You know, I didn’t realize that yoga teachers could use a playlist to keep track of the session. I like that idea! I’m sorry you’re feeling a bit uneasy and stressed lately; hopefully that will ease up a bit in the future!! I feel like I’m a bit stressed as well, but I’m trying not to let some of the “bigger” things worry me too much since there isn’t anything I can currently do to change things.

  3. As far as music for a playlist, have you included The Greatest Showman sound track? Those songs are powerful. If you don’t mind some cursing, Dax Shepard’s podcast – Arm Chair Expert is awesome!

  4. I used to do yoga in high school but stopped. Last month I started going to classes again and I love it! Love that you’re studying it and practicing it too!

  5. Sounds like there’s a lot happening in your life and some stuff in the works. I was in a similar position last summer and still not 100% where I’ll be a year or two years from now, but I’m definitely happier where I am now than where I was last summer. I’ve been working on blogging more, too. It’s been a struggle to keep up with it some days, but I’m making it happen!
