It’s that time of the month again. Not that time, but the time when we take a few minutes to catch up on life, what’s been going on, where my heads at, and everything in between. Ready? Let’s go!

Reading

I have been working on re-reading all of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books which is so fun to me. I’m currently on ‘On The Banks of Plum Creek.’ It’s so funny to me how much of these books I remember, but also how much I forgot. It’s been fun.

Watching

The Office. As the boy and I have been watching The Office lately, I realized I haven’t seen several episodes across varying seasons so I’m going to re-watch from the beginning and catch them all. This show is so classic and hysterical.

Listening to

Podcasts, podcasts, and more podcasts. I haven’t been listening to as many audiobooks lately since I’m not driving to the office but my podcast list is ever growing so I’ve been listening to them quite a bit.

Eating/Drinking

I feel like I haven’t been eating as well as I like the last few months. I’m slowly trying to add more foods that feel better in my body and when I do, I really notice a difference. I’m trying to remember how much better I feel and use that as motivation to keep eating better.

Planning

Blogging and social media campaigns. I’m no “big blogger” by any means and I don’t blog to make money, but in this time when I’m unemployed, it is nice when sponsored campaigns come my way that are a good fit and can help give me a few extra bucks to put towards bills. It’s the little things.

Feeling

Grateful. My 31st birthday was last week and the outpour of love and birthday wishes just filled me up. I’m also feeling grateful for the constant love and support since I lost my job. I’m applying for jobs and interviewing, and whether the interview goes well or doesn’t, my friends and family have been there for me and have encouraged me. I’m so grateful for them.

Loving

Lifting weights again. Running hasn’t been feeling as good which gives me a lot of different feels but lifting has been feeling really nice in my body so I’m definitely happy to add more back in and feel myself getting stronger and stronger.

Trying

To get a job. LOL I’m still working on my goal to get a job offer by the end of the month. It’s not totally in my control but I’m applying to a lot of jobs, taking every interview and being as authentic as possible. This is as much as one can do, so it’s what I’ll keep doing.

Learning

More about yoga. Even though my yoga teacher training program is over the learning is NOT. I recently bought a new yoga book about yin yoga and I am so excited to dive in, keep learning and expanding my practice and what I can teach.

Pick a couple and catch me up on your life lately…

  1. I feel like I rewatch the entire series of The Office at least once a year (thank you, Netflix!). I think Season 2 is my favorite. What about you?

  2. We are almost done with the Office, it is such a classic show! I’m going to be sad when we’re done again! And I loved Laura Ingalls Wilder when I was growing up! I haven’t re-read those books in years, I might have to do that!

  3. The Laura Ingalls Wilder books are on my list to re-read soon! I used to love them. It amazes me (even though it should be common sense to me by now) how what I put in my mouth affects everything I do. If I eat like crap, I feel like it too and I don’t perform on a level that is optimal. But when I eat well, I sleep better, my mind feels more alert and I can retain more. It’s my excuse for turning down the naughty things I want but shouldn’t have. 🙂

  4. I used to read Laura Ingalls Wilder when I was younger too – though I don’t think I got through them all. Re-reading children’s classics are great. I want to do more of that. 🙂

Good luck on the job hunt! I know it’s not in our hands, but you’re definitely doing all you can. I’m sure something will pop up soon!!

  5. The Office is the kind of show that’s awesome for rewatching! I haven’t read the Ingalls Wilder books for years and years–those would be a fun re-read!

  6. Awww I’m so proud of you, Katie <3 it sounds as though you ar le in a great headspace right now which is crucial for allowing new things into our life. You’ll find a new job and I’m glad you are enjoying life in the meantime! That’s what it’s all about 🙂 always looking for podcasts, so lmk if you have any to recommend!

  7. The Little House series will always be my favorite series. I am borderline obsessed. I need to finish traveling to all of the places! I have been to the Missouri and Kansas places and loved them. I definitely recommend going barefoot on the grounds in Kansas to get the true feel as well.(Don’t worry, I carried flip flops as it was the heat of the summer.)

  8. I had some foot pain this week so I skipped my runs and made sure I got to the gym and pushed it in classes. While I love running, there are other places to get endorphins. Also, Laura Ingalls Wilder forever!!
